Giving thanks to Sarah!

Sarah Hale should be thanked for Thanksgiving.  She was not a pilgrim and she was not at the 1621 harvest celebration (later known as the first Thanksgiving) but she was important to the holiday we know as Thanksgiving.  Read this book and click on the links below to find out more about this woman who is so important to Thanksgiving today.

The zombies are coming, the zombies are coming!

At least the author of a fantastic zombie series is coming to our school on September 23.  We are so excited to welcome James Ponti, author of the Dead City series, is visiting Carol Holt Elementary to talk with our 3rd and 4th graders about having a book on the Texas Bluebonnet Award list.

Author, author - two authors visit our school!

Two authors visited our school on Friday, February 7.  Jan Peck and David Davis are both Fort Worth authors who have each written several books that our students loved!  We all had a wonderful time helping them retell their stories and learning about the hard work that goes into writing books.
