Author visit!!

One of the Texas Bluebonnet Award list authors visited our school today!  Peggy Eddleman is visiting our school district from her home state of Utah and we learned a lot about her, her books Sky Jumpers and The Forbidden Flats (Sky Jumpers #2).  We also learned about her writing process and some interesting personal facts as well.

Do you know how to find...?

Almost any answer that an elementary student might be looking for can be found in our library databases.  You can find the databases on the library webpage and I hand out bookmarks with the login information on a regular basis.  So what are you waiting for?  Start searching!!

Children's Book Week is coming soon... did you vote?

The Children's Book Council celebrates Children's Book Week every spring.  Now, they also have an awards ceremony for books voted as favorites by different groups of children and children's book reader. We like to celebrate reading all year long but especially during Children's Book Week!

And the winner is...

Our school is part of a super cool reading program called "And the Winner Is...".  We are one of 14 MISD campuses to participate in the program this year.  The program is featured in our local magazine, Mansfield Now.

 And the Winner Is article

We vote for our campus winners over the next couple of weeks. Our ceremony will take place at the Mansfield ISD Center for Performing Arts on April 29.  We are so excited!
Check back here to find out which books, authors, illustrators, and characters win our votes!
